For my mother

When I fall, she catches
When I fail, she soothes
When the load becomes too heavy, she shares
When I feel overwhelmed, she offers succour

When I can't see the way, she shows
When my spirit saps, she offers hers
When I feel alone, she stands with me
And her support through thick and thin is unfailing

For the one who's there no matter what
And on whom I can always depend, I am eternally grateful.

I'm the good man I am because of her guidance.

I love you, Ma.

Hope my kids feel that way about me :)

Brought a lump, my mum was the most fantastic person in the world - sadly she pased away about 8 years ago, I miss her a lot, esp when I'm feeling down!

Now you've made me all reflective :(

I'm sure they do, Jayney. I almost feel that way about ye and I hardly know ye. :)

Think of your mum this way, Jayney - wherever she is, she's happy and lookin down on ye.

The mother referred to in this poem should realise that she is a very lucky woman to inspire such thoughts and also to have a son who so obviously loves her.

This should be worth more than any monetary gift -- at least it would be to me.
I actually had a little weep when I heard it.

She's my rock, Gladiola, my rock. No matter what goes on in my life she stands fast.
